In this series of videos, we look at how to count from 1 to 100 in the two different systems of counting that exist in Korean: native Korean numerals and Sino-Korean numerals (those which have been imported into Korean from Chinese).
Native Korean numbers are used very often in Taekwondo classes. They are used for counting movements. Sino-Korean numbers are used less often, but all Taekwondo students will hear them at some point – often in the names of forms (e.g. Saju Jireugi, which has the Sino-Korean numeral for ‘four’ in it – sa).
