Movements of Wonhyo
Wonhyo has 28 movements.
Form a closed ready stance ‘a’ towards A.
- Turn to the left and step towards E with the left foot, forming a right ‘l’ stance towards E. Perform a twin block with the left and right forearm.
- Without changing stance, perform an inward strike to the neck with the right knife-hand, pulling the left side-fist to the right shoulder.
- Move the left foot towards E, forming a left fixed stance towards E. At the same time, perform a side punch towards E with the left fore-fist.
- Move the left foot to the right foot, turn to the right, and step towards C with the right foot, forming a left ‘l’ stance towards C. Perform a twin block with the left and right forearm.
- Without changing stance, perform an inward strike to the neck with the left knife-hand, pulling the right side-fist to the left shoulder.
- Move the right foot towards C, forming a right fixed stance towards C. At the same time, perform a side punch towards C with the right fore-fist.
- Move the right foot to the left foot, turn to the left, and bring the left foot up to the right knee, forming a right bending ready stance towards A.
- Perform a side piercing kick to the mid section towards A with the left foot.
- Lower the left foot towards A, forming a right ‘l’ stance towards A. Perform a guarding block to the mid section with the knife-hand.
- Step towards A with the right foot, forming a left ‘l’ stance towards A. Perform a guarding block to the mid section with the knife-hand.
- Step towards A with the left foot, forming a right ‘l’ stance towards A. Perform a guarding block to the mid section with the knife-hand.
- Step towards A with the right foot, forming a right walking stance towards A. Thrust to the mid section with the right spear-hand, moving the left fingertips to beneath the right elbow, with the left palm facing downwards.
- Turn to the left and step towards B with the left foot, forming a right ‘l’ stance towards B. Perform a twin block with the left and right forearm.
- Without changing stance, perform an inward strike to the neck with the right knife-hand, pulling the left side-fist to the right shoulder.
- Move the left foot towards B, forming a left fixed stance towards B. At the same time, perform a side punch towards B with the left fore-fist.
- Move the left foot to the right foot, turn to the right, and step towards F with the right foot, forming a left ‘l’ stance towards F. Perform a twin block with the left and right forearm.
- Without changing stance, perform an inward strike to the neck with the left knife-hand, pulling the right side-fist to the left shoulder.
- Move the right foot towards F, forming a right fixed stance towards F. At the same time, perform a side punch towards F with the right fore-fist.
- Move the right foot to the left foot, turn to the left, and step towards D with the left foot, forming a left walking stance towards D. Perform a circular block to the mid section with the right inner-forearm.
- Perform a front snapping kick to the mid section with the right foot.
- Lower the right foot towards D, forming a right walking stance towards D. Punch to the mid section with the left fore-fist.
- Without changing stance, perform a circular block to the mid section with the left inner-forearm.
- Perform a front snapping kick to the mid section with the left foot.
- Lower the left foot towards D, forming a left walking stance toward D. Punch to the mid section with the right fore-fist.
- Bring the right foot up to the left knee, forming a left bending ready stance towards D.
- Perform a side piercing kick to the mid section towards D with the right foot-sword.
- Lower the right foot towards D. Pivot on the right foot, turn to the left, and step towards E with the left foot, forming a right ‘l’ stance towards D. Perform a guarding block to the mid section with the forearm.
- Move the left foot to the right foot, turn to the right, and step towards C with the right foot, forming a left ‘l’ stance towards C. Perform a guarding block to the mid section with the forearm.
Move the right foot to the left foot, turn to the left, and form a closed ready stance ‘a’ towards A.
Learning Wonhyo
- Between movements 2 and 3, 5 and 6, 14 and 15, and 17 and 18, do not pull the front foot back before moving into a fixed stance.
