Accurate figures for this are not known, but it is likely to be in the 10,000s or 100,000s.
There are several problems that make getting an accurate figure for the number of black belts difficult. Firstly, the total number of Taekwondo practitioners in the world isn’t known with accuracy – see this question for the reason why that is. It is difficult to figure out what the proportion of Taekwondo students who have attained black belt is without knowing how many Taekwondo students there are in the first place.
Secondly, there is the problem of who is counted as a Taekwondo black belt. Are people who have achieved black belt but stopped training still counted? (See this blog post for a discussion about that topic.)
