The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) (which recently changed its name to just World Taekwondo (WT)) is an international organisation aimed at promoting and coordinating Taekwondo worldwide.
The World Taekwondo Federation promotes the curriculum of Kukkiwon – the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. As such, the style practised in the World Taekwondo Federation is called Kukki-won Taekwondo (also known as WTF Taekwondo or WT Taekwondo).
The organisation governs five continental organisations, which themselves govern national organisations.
The World Taekwondo Federation was established in 1973. It’s first president was Kim Un-yong and its current president is Jo Jeong-won.
